A map that fits the song like a glove.
When I first played this map, I wasn’t just playing the map, I was playing the song. The stacks and doubles in this map create great emphasis when needed most. The walls and far-reaching notes force the player to move in a very comfortable way. The combination of these factors creates for a feeling that you won’t get with a lot of maps, which is what I think makes the map stand out, and worthy of a review.
There are some unconventional patterns in the map as well, like unique angles or 90° hits. They’re used to great effect; not feeling uncomfortable at all, and making the player move in ways that most maps wouldn’t.
Of course, I also have to mention Lethrial’s lightshow. He did an amazing job! The colors are carefully picked to reflect the vibe of the song. Effects like strobes and ring propagation are used at the right times to represent the music nicely. The lightshow of a map is not something most people pay a lot of attention to, but this one is definitely worth taking a look at.
Now, I feel like it would be unfair not to address some of the flaws I’ve noticed. There are a few vision issues here and there, some notes that aren’t very well visible because of a wall or a note blocking your vision. Luckily though, the flow makes up for it; even though you don’t always see the notes coming, you can expect them to be there.
Overall I think this map is extraordinary, definitely worth giving it a shot next time you boot up beat saber if you haven’t played it already. Congratulations to Timeweaver and Lethrial!
Don’t stop, let me see you go!
I love this song. Even though it just came out, i’ve fallen in love with it.
