This song is a bit of a challenge, but I really enjoy it! The difficulty matches the different intensities throughout the song, and the unique and complex patterns provide a thrilling experience while being frequent enough to be recognizable. This map utilizes both bombs and obstacles exceptionally well, and really drives it home with its professional and profound use of dot notes. Where I’ve seen other songs fall short on their use, aaltopahwi uses them in this song not only without creating issues for the notes and play-ability of the song, but uses them to create emphasis and show patterns in the flow of the song.
The small mishaps I experienced while replaying the map were relatively unobtrusive, but may lead to insight in the future:
+Starting at around 2:30, avoiding bombs becomes much easier to read and prepare for, made to match the song, but left me feeling a little weird, personally, being easier than when first introduced.
+There’s also a point in the song around 3:08 where both the song and notes slow down, and I can never quite get it right, and I think that if there were more visual cues, or perhaps given time to look ahead and see what could be coming, it would be much easier to sight read.
+Starting at around 3:44, and also in the last bit of the song, the note pattern begins to rely fully on an instrument solo, and has single notes that match most of that portion of the song, but also double notes that match strong points in the song’s solo. This was very difficult for me to follow, I would often find myself either lost or randomly guessing where to go, and missing many at a time. Although it matches the song exceptionally well, the double notes don’t appear in an easily recognizable pattern, particularly at the speed the rest of the notes are coming at you. Because the double notes also work as a partial reset, especially when in the bottom center lanes, it creates a sort of confusion panic as to where the next part of the song is going.
Even through the small points in the song that were hard for me to read, the map more than made up for it with it’s exceptional sense of atmosphere and rush! After completing the map, I felt empowered in the intense difficulty of the song with the relative ease at zoning into the music and using the fantastic flow of the map to emerge victorious!
I would Highly recommend this map to experienced players looking for an interesting and unique challenge!
Uhh… Yeah. This was supposed to be done months ago.
The lights were finished for ages but i just couldn’t get myself to map this until now.
At first i made a map that ended up really boring. Then i made it too weird.
Gave up so i shoved it to Lawless and made new downmaps as the main difficulties instead.
I’m kind of puzzled by the existence of this map so i hope it’s not as of a mess as i feel it being and that at least someone will find something to enjoy in it.
