“Rock Me Amadeus” is the tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart by Austrian musician Falco. Released in 1985 on Falco3, it became the first, and currently only, German language song that peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1986. The song describes the popularity and debts of Mozart, and was inspired by the 1984 Movie Amadeus. It was Falco’s only #1 hit in the US and UK, though he was quite popular in his native Austria and much of Europe.
The song is mapped at two levels. Younger Amadeus is as bare bones as it could be made while still having the song recognizable. Elder Amadeus is much more intense, with more brought out to the player.
