Just in time for Halloween, here’s a new and fun challenge for Beat Saber players!

Little Shop of Horrors – the musical, the movie, now the beatmap! If you haven’t seen the movie, go watch it right now! You don’t have to have seen it to enjoy this marathon map, but it will be even more awesome if you have. Little Shop is the best horror comedy musical about a man-eating alien plant you will ever see.

So what is this beatmap all about? It’s the Little Shop of Horrors movie soundtrack, mapped as one map! 39 minutes, 13 super fun dancy songs, with both expert and normal difficulties, so anyone can play it. Who would make such a crazy fun map? TechButterfly, that’s who (hey that’s me)! If you’re familiar with my maps, you’ll know that I always try and map in a smooth, dancy style, without getting too crazy. Little Shop has a wide range of song styles in it, and the individual maps for each song reflect that. On the Normal level, the maps range from Easy to low-level Hard. On the Expert level, they range in difficulty from Hard to Expert. Keep in mind that this is a TechButterfly map, so the Expert level is going to work your shoulders! Maybe stretch a bit before you get started.

This map is the result of over 150 hours of work. All the mapping and lighting were done by me, with some input and mentoring from the awesome MajorPickle – Thanks, man! I couldn’t have pulled this off without you!

But Wait, There’s More!

While I was working on the beatmap, some incredible modelers – RedBrumbler and L_Death, created custom sabers, notes, platform, and title for the Oculus Quest, to go along with the Little Shop map. These models are available all together as a model pack for Quest. The sabers and notes were also ported over to PC for us by noted modeler AkaRaiden. Another great modeler, Tachrayonic, created a couple of other custom sabers to go with the PC version. You do not have to have these models in order to play the map, but I think they add a lot to the experience, and I highly recommend loading them up. Big thanks to all the modelers for their contributions!

how can I buy this, I’m in Australia, and how much does it cost? Would like to buy it!

    1. techbutterfly says:

Hi Luis, I’m not sure if you mean the soundtrack album, the movie, or the beat saber map. I strongly recommend buying the movie and soundtrack if you like them – they should be available on Amazon. If you mean the beat map – good news, that’s free! You can download it by clicking the download button under the title at the top of this page or get from beatsaver.com. Hope you enjoy playing it!

I LOVE this idea! I have not played it yet as I only just found it, but I love the movie and its great to see a map that is friendly to both the seasoned and the novice player. Its also great to see something different from your typical dubstep/anime type maps though they are great. This shows a wider variety and I only hope more maps like this become available.

    AHHHHHHHHHH THANKYOU!!!!
I did a play on this and fell in love with the OST

I think there is a problem with this song. I’ve tried downloading it a number of times over the past couple of days and instead of the soundtrack from Little Shop of Horrors there’s a short song that I’m not familiar with which is about three minutes long. I even tried downloading the zip file and manually copying the files into the Little Shop of Horrors folder on the Quest. After doing that it would play the Little Shop of Horrors soundtrack but it would stop at 3:09. It seems like the short song was some type of placeholder but when the “real” song replaced it the song length wasn’t updated for the longer track.

    1. techbutterfly says:

Bdbphillips I’m sorry you’re having problems with the file. You’re right the short song was a placeholder we had to use to get the song uploaded. I’m not sure what’s causing the problem. Most people have had no problem with it but a handful have. I suggest you try deleting the song folder from the quest altogether and then try downloading again. If that doesn’t work let me know and we’ll try something else.

I will probably release the individual songs eventually, but it will be quite a while. The epic scope and challenge of this marathon map is part of its appeal and I want as many people as possible to experience it in its long form.

In the meantime, you can always go to a specific point in the song in practice mode.

Thanks for the nice review of the map and of me! I appreciate it!

I came to ask the same question as LONEVVOLF – loved playing this all the way thru, and would love to be able to revisit specific songs as their own maps! But thanks so much for putting it together – not nearly enough musical content on here. Bravo!

  9. lonevvolf says:

Any chance of getting the individually split up maps? Sometimes you just want to play a certain song from the soundtrack without going through the whole thing…
