Ruckus has been absolutely KILLING it lately. This map is packed to the brim with fresh patterns and flows. Experienced players will find themselves swinging frantically, brain ahead of hands and they’ll find they’re hitting the patterns. This is a good example of what a master map maker is capable of.
When your brain doesn’t have to consciously tell your hands what to do and you just “wing it” a great map maker will have placed patterns in such a way that you’ll move and you’ll slam home the pattern simply because it’s laid out super logically. I akin the feeling i get during a map like this to a borderline meditative state. When you finish a set of patterns you’ll say to yourself “I cannot believe I just did that”
Your eyes see the blocks flying at your head but somehow your hands just move through it like a hot knife through butter. For me this happened on the first try. I didn’t need to study complex patterns, my brain just processed them on the spot.
This is where the art comes in. Too complex a pattern and you need to “learn” it. Too simple and it’s not fun. There’s a grey area in the middle and that is where Ruckus is an absolute master of his craft.
I can’t say enough good things about this map or it’s creator. Ruckus has been around forever but his skill has not stagnated. He finds a new way to be creative with each successive map release. Love it.
