“Personal Jesus” is lead single off of “Violator,” the 1989 album by English electronic band Depeche Mode. It was the first single of the band to make the US Top 40 since their song “People Are People” in 1984, and is the band’s first gold-certified single. It reached #13 on the UK Singles Chart, #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was on the German Singles Chart for 23 weeks. In 2004, it ranked #368 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It was inspired by Priscilla Presley’s book “Elvis And Me,” where she described their relationship. It presented Elvis as her Jesus, someone to give you hope and care. The song is mapped in black and red, inspired by the cover of “Violator.” Enjoy! A special thanks to my playesters (and there’re a lot of them for this classic song.): Vassar888, BackflipV0dka, Jafdy, BrightKnight, Helen Carnate, Irahi, Kansas, Monstor, and DeeDee!
